The most importance for double eyelid surgery is overall harmony with other facial components.
1. Thin eyelid and big eyes but without double eyelid.
Surgical results are always good for eyes with thin eyelid.
Patient can do non-incision double eyelid surgery if eyelid is not saggy.
Merit of non-incision double eyelid are short swelling and forming natural double eyelid.
2. Thick eyelid without double eyelid.
Eyelid looks thick because three major components of eyelid: skin, muscles and fats are too much or too solid.
Fats can be removed by non-incision surgery; but muscles and skin can be removed by partial-incision or eyelid-incision only.
If there are too much solid muscles and skin, it is difficult to do non-incision surgery but still can make beautiful and natural double eyelid by partial-incision or eyelid-incision.
3. Mismatched eyes.
Make one eye as standard, and change other eye like it.
Of course, it is possible to design the 3rd shape and do double eyelid surgery on both 2 eyes.
If it have not only mismatched double eyelid, but also the height of eyelid are mismatched completely, you should do ptousis correction together.
4. Small eyes.
Small eyes can be divided into short width of eye and short height of eye.
As for short width of eye, patient can do epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty together. Epicanthoplasty incise Mongolian fold to open the front eye’s skin curtain; and lateral canthoplasty is to pull and make back eye bigger.
As for short height of eye, double eyelid surgery itself have effects to make eye 1-2mm bigger, and due to forming double eyelid, it can give visual effects that eyes seem bigger than original size.
And to open the whole eye, patient can do eye line plastic surgery (like sleeping eyes) and do eye lowering surgery to make eyelid facing downward.
