Time for re-surgery for double eyelid

-       The ideal time for 2^nd surgery is 6 months to a year after 1^st surgery, and it is time for skin is healed.

Generally after a month, the shape becomes natural, but if the shape is still artificial after 3 months, can do re-surgery with an exception.

 

Cases for re-surgery for double eyelid

1. Asymmetry of double eyelid.

-if your double eyelids are mismatched each other, you should consider re-surgery for double eyelid.

Immediately after surgery, double eyelids will different because of swelling, but if it is still mismatched after swelling reduced completely, it can correct by make lower eyelid upward or upper eyelid downward.

2. Double eyelid is solved (weakness)

- can be occurred by various reasons. As for people’s eyelid is overly thick or lots of fats or weakness of elevator muscle which open eye is easily be solved. Surgeon should interpret exact reason and do re-surgery for fixing firmly.

3. Swelling is remained. (Sausage)

- As for eye whose double eyelid is relatively high or skin is bulged (generally called as sausage eye), its eyelid looks heavy and artificial. Also it gives solved impression, so must do re-surgery. It gives natural image by removing scar under the double eyelid, and making double eyelid thinner.

4. Double eyelid is too high.

Overly high incision line and double eyelid give artificial image, so patient should do re-surgery.

If you have enough skin remains, should incise original incision again to minimize scar and make shorten the double eyelid.

5. Visible scar

- generally 3-6 months after eye plastic surgery, swelling is reduced and scar is not visible, but scar is still visible due to various reasons. If patient have enough skin remains, surgeon can make it less artificial. But if patient have not enough skin, surgery becomes difficult.
